The Southeast's Premier Aquatics Facility

About Huntsville Aquatics Center

Training and Competition

The Huntsville Aquatic Center features two regulation 50-meter competition pools that have hosted numerous regional and state championship meets, along with USA Swimming and NCSA competitions. It also contains the newly renovated Lewis Family Legacy Pool, which provides year-round training, dive competitions, and supplemental competition lanes. The pools maintain optimal water temperature and chemistry year-round, providing ideal training conditions for swimmers of all levels.

Beyond the pool, the facility includes modern locker rooms, dryland training areas, and comfortable spaces for families to watch practices and meets. The City of Huntsville has thoughtfully designed every aspect to enhance the swimming experience.

One Swim Complex - Three Pools

The Huntsville Aquatics Center has been recognized as a world-class swimming facility. It is also the only facility in the Southeast that has two 50-meter competitive pools under the same roof.

The competition pool boasts a movable bulkhead that accommodates swimming setups for a 18-lane 25-yard pool or an 8-lane 50-meter pool..  Both setups allow for Olympic-style starting blocks and Colorado timing pads.  The pool was also designed with ventilation and swimmer and fan safety in mind.

The facility also has provided plenty of meeting rooms, public restrooms, parking spaces, numerous locker rooms, and concessions areas to host large multi-day swim competitions.

Thanks to Chris O’Neil, one of the most decorated swimmers in Huntsville history, the construction and planning of the Aquatics Center now benefits HSA, the Huntsville and Madison County community, and the entire southeast region.
