HSA was started in 1969 as the Rocket City Aquatic Club. In 1974, the club’s name was changed to the Huntsville Swim Association. Since 1969, HSA has produced two Olympians and countless athletes who have competed on the international, national, and collegiate levels.
For 40 years, HSA has proven itself over and over again as the top program in Northern Alabama, the State of Alabama, and the Southern zone.

HSA is fortunate to train and compete in one of the most modern facilities in the South. The City of Huntsville has offered HSA a wonderful opportunity to use this facility year-round.
The Huntsville Aquatic Center features a regulation 50-meter competition pool that has hosted numerous regional and state championship meets along with USA Swimming and NCSA competitions. It also contains the newly renovated Legacy Pool, which provides year-round training, dive competitions, and supplemental competition lanes. The pools maintain optimal water temperature and chemistry year-round, providing ideal training conditions for swimmers of all levels.
Beyond the pool, our facility includes modern locker rooms, dryland training areas, and comfortable spaces for families to watch practices and meets. The City of Huntsville has thoughtfully designed every aspect to enhance the swimming experience.
